Situated
on a private game reserve, where the ‘Big Five’ can
be viewed, Shamwari forms a natural extension to the Garden Route,

its conservation efforts, linked to tourism, Shamwari has been honoured

Leading Conservation Company’ and ‘World’s Leading
Safari Game Reserve’.The reserve covers 20,000 hectares and
provides a sanctuary for a wide variety of birds and wildlife. Game
drives in open vehicles, with highly trained rangers, bring guests
close to black and white rhino, elephant, lion, giraffe, hippo,
cheetah and more than 18 antelope species.
Long Lee Manor, originally built in 1910, offers a distinctive Colonial
experience. Bushmans River Lodge is a unique historical site with
4 suites, whilst Riverdene Lodge is a restored settler’s lodge
with 9 suites. Lobengula Lodge and Eagles Crag, the premier lodges,
