Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive Cape Town / Winelands
Arrive in Cape Town today where a Thompsons Representative will meet you, and assist you to collect your hired
car. Travel to the Cape Winelands, the largest wine producing region in the Western Cape. With a selection of over
200 cellars to choose from, you are guaranteed to taste some of the fi nest wines in the world.

Day 2: Winelands / Oudtshoorn
Depart the Cape Winelands today and head for ‘Route 62’, one of the most beautiful travel routes in South Africa,
as well as one of the least known and least travelled ones. Make your way via Robertson, to Montagu and onto towns
like Barrydale and Calitzdorp, a Port Wine producing area. Arrive in Oudtshoorn, affectionately known as the ‘feather
capital’, because of its large ostrich farming industry. Visit an ostrich show farm for an informative tour, or explore
the Cango Caves, one of the world’s great natural wonders.

Day 3: Oudtshoorn / Knysna
Travel over the scenic Outeniqua Pass to George, nestled below the Outeniqua Mountains, and onto the lagoon town of Knysna. Spend today exploring Knysna, one of the Southern Cape coast’s best known holiday destinations, situated
between lush forests and the shores of the peaceful lagoon.

Day 4: Knysna
Knysna offers its visitors many activities and attractions. The most well known attraction being the ‘Heads’, two great
sandstone cliffs guarding the mouth of the lagoon which connects the estuary with the sea. Take a ferry boat cruise
across the lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve for a stroll through the forests and a view of the ‘Heads’.

Day 5: Knysna / Plettenberg Bay
Continue travelling along the Garden Route, a magical area which hugs the dramatic Indian Ocean coastline on the
one side, and magnifi cent mountain ranges on the other. Arrive in Plettenberg Bay, a seaside holiday haven, lined with
several miles of white sands, backed by the blue-grey outline of the Tsitsikamma Mountains and lapped by an endless
succession of gentle waves.

Day 6: Plettenberg Bay / Port Elizabeth
Travel to Port Elizabeth today where you drop off your hired car and check in for your onward flight.
