DAY 1: WED CAPE TOWN - OUDTSHOORN
Travel Route 62 via Montagu and the ‘Klein Karoo’ to Oudtshoorn, ostrich capital of the world. Overnight in
Oudtshoorn. [D]

DAY 2: THURS OUDTSHOORN - KNYSNA
After breakfast tour vast limestone Cango Caves, and Ostrich Show Farm (guided). Travel to quaint Knysna
(shopping opportunity). Overnight in Knysna. [B]

DAY 3: FRI KNYSNA
Leisurely start before lagoon cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve. Enjoy a trailer ride to the top of the Western
Head and walk back through the milkwood trees for lunch. Afternoon at leisure at hotel.

DAY 4: SAT KNYSNA - PORT ELIZABETH
Travel via Tsitsikamma Forests to Port Elizabeth where tour ends on arrival. [B]

Community visits

COMMUNITY FARM SCHOOL (BARRYDALE, WESTERN CAPE)
During the 1960s farmers in the area decided to build a school for the labourers’ children. The multi-grade school
offers education to children from Grades 1 - 6, with four classrooms, two teachers (one of whom is the principal)
and an administrative clerk. The school receives a “Norms and Standards” allocation from the government which
subsidises school fees, text books and general expenses.
