DAY 1: WED CAPE TOWN – OUDTSHOORN
Travel Route 62 via Montagu and the ‘Klein Karoo’ to Oudtshoorn, ostrich capital of the world. Overnight. [D]

DAY 2: THURS OUDTSHOORN - KNYSNA
After breakfast tour vast limestone Cango Caves, and Ostrich Show Farm (guided). Travel to quaint Knysna
(shopping opportunity). Overnight in Knysna. [B]

DAY 3: FRI KNYSNA
Leisurely start before lagoon cruise to Featherbed Nature Reserve, trailer ride to top of Western Head, and walk
back through Milkwood trees for lunch (included). Afternoon at leisure at hotel. Overnight in Knysna. [BL]

DAY 4: SAT KNYSNA - PORT ELIZABETH
Travel via Tsitsikamma Forests to Port Elizabeth. Check into hotel. Overnight in Port Elizabeth. [BD]

Community Visits

COMMUNITY FARM SCHOOL (BARRYDALE, WESTERN CAPE)
During the 1960s farmers in the area decided to build a school for the labourers’ children. The multi-grade school
offers education to children from Grades 1 - 6, with four classrooms, two teachers (one of whom is the principal)
and an administrative clerk. The school receives a “Norms and Standards” allocation from the government which
subsidises school fees, text books and general expenses.
